FFFC_logo (1)Students in the twelve week Urban Farm School will be selling at the Liberty Street Market located at 1591 N Liberty St in  Winston-Salem, NC. The students are enrolled in the twelve week school’s market gardening course. They have grown produce in market garden beds at the Cleveland Urban Farm located blocks from the Liberty Street Market. This puts a new spin on local food, seeing as it has traveled less than a mile from the farm to the market. Students participate in a traditional classroom session and a hands on session each week. The goal of the Urban Farm School is to ‘grow’ more urban farmers with the skills needed to grow more fresh produce  close to where people live in the city. Forsyth Cooperative’s Urban Farm School students will be selling at the Liberty Street Market on Saturday October 22 and 29, 2016 from 9 a.m. until noon. Come out and support our students and enjoy some truly local food. For more information, contact Mary Jac Brennan at 336-703-2869 or mjbrenn2@ncsu.edu.
